Windows 10 Slideshow Stops Working

How do you set the background slideshow to work with folders within folders? I have a Picture folder with subfolders separating different categories of pictures, and windows 10 doesn't go into the subfolders like it did in windows 8.1. For 8.1 I had to make the folder with the pictures the default Pictures folder and it read through all the subfolders without a problem. Is there any way to get this to work in windows 10? (The folder is already the default Pictures folder).
